Construction has begun on a five-story apartment complex along South Broadway where a furniture store once stood.
Concrete pillars and rebar have been installed, as the project starts to take shape at the corner of Evans and Broadway. The complex is expected to have 366 residential units and 7,500 square feet of retail space.
Dallas-based Trammell Crow Residential paid $20 million in December for the entire block, according to public records. EMW Carpets & Furniture once operated on much of the site.
Below are photos of the project’s progress on Tuesday:
Developer: Trammell Crow Residential
Specs: The five-story building is slated to be about 421,000 square feet
What’s happening: The initial phase of construction has begun. Crews are on site with cranes and several concrete pillars have been erected in addition to some rebar.
