Built to capture the panoramic views of Boulder’s mountain scenery, a 6,067-square-foot Boulder home sold for $7.15 million last month — earning the top spot among local sales in the metro area.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom house at 1435 Sunset Blvd. was originally listed for $7.5 million on March 9.

Sellers Tom and Tamsin Jacky purchased the home for $2.45 million in 2013, according to property records. Tom is the CFO for Oklahoma-based West Star Operating Co., according to his LinkedIn. The couple sold the property to Thomas J. McMurray on July 1, according to property records.

Inside, visitors are greeted by soaring ceilings, wide-plank white oak floors, walls of windows and a floating staircase that features a waterfall.

Over the years, the sellers have updated the home built in 2009 with renovations like a professional heating system that extends to the outside deck, a custom dining nook with banquet seating and mountain views from every seat, and mahogany wood details in the kitchen.

“The location is one of the best in Boulder on a cul-de-sac street,” said listing agent Tom Kahn with Re/Max Alliance on Walnut. “You can roll out of bed and be at the Hotel Boulderado in two minutes.”

Kahn and Kathryn Whelan with Re/Max Alliance represented the Jackys and buyer’s agent Sara Oclassen with 8z Real Estate represented McMurray.
