A small-format Target is officially making big moves in Lowry.
The developers behind the Exchange at Boulevard One complex — Kelmore Development and Confluent Development — announced on Tuesday that Target has leased 30,000 square feet of space at 93 N. Quebec St. as the new anchor tenant for the retail project.
BusinessDen reported in August that the deal was in the works.
Boulder County-based Lucky’s Market originally intended to build a store at the site, but abandoned its plans in January shortly before filing for bankruptcy and shuttering most of its stores around the country. Lucky’s sold the land back in May.
The small-format Target planned for the corner of 1st and Quebec is about a quarter of the size of the retailer’s typical stores. It will be designed by Denver-based architecture firm The Mulhern Group and constructed by general contractor Brinkman Construction.
The Minneapolis-based chain declined to estimate when the store will open.
In addition to Target, other tenants in the Exchange at Boulevard One retail complex are set to include SCL Health, Sushi Ronin, Mod Pizza, YogaSix and Logan House Coffee, according to Kelmore and Confluent.
Celeste Tanner, chief development officer for Confluent, said the developers still hope to land another grocer.
“At this time, we are currently engaged in advanced negotiations to add a specialty grocer to the Exchange at Boulevard One project,” Tanner said. “We are looking forward to introducing a grocer that will tailor its products to meet the needs of the residents within the Lowry neighborhood, who are looking for a convenient and specialized grocery experience.”
