The coronavirus has prompted one development team in RiNo to press pause.
Hines, McCaffery and Ivanhoe Cambridge have delayed the start of construction on T3, their six-story office building planned for 3500 Blake St.
“The construction schedule for T3 RiNo has been pushed back a few months,” the companies said in a statement forwarded by a Hines spokesman. “Since on-site construction has not started, we have the benefit of being patient and to adapt our timeline to local government directives and impacts from the pandemic as the situation evolves out of this period of uncertainty.”
The three partners held a formal groundbreaking ceremony for the project in late February, but the existing industrial structure at the site still needs to be demolished before T3 can begin to rise.
Construction is considered an essential business in Colorado, although the state has asked companies to consider reducing crew sizes and deferring less-urgent projects. A short walk from the site where T3 is being built, crews continue to work on Zocalo Community Development’s 13-story Edit at River North apartment complex.
