OZ Architecture said in a Wednesday statement to BusinessDen that the firm has furloughed “a small number of staff” and administered “select layoffs” as a result of the pandemic.

The firm, which has offices in Denver and Boulder, did not respond when asked specifically how many employees were affected.

OZ Architecture previously had a staff of 170 architects, interior designers, brand strategist, and support staff, according to the company’s site. The firm’s portfolio includes the Popsockets headquarters in Boulder, Improper City and Magnolia Hotel’s bar and lobby in downtown Denver.

Facebook grants: Facebook announced last week that it will award more than $250,000 to 63 small businesses in Denver that are affected by the pandemic. The company is providing relief efforts for businesses in the 34 locations where its employees live and work. Online applications for the grant will be open in the upcoming weeks.

Outdoor industry: Denver-based startup Gearo, an online marketplace that allows adventurers to rent outdoor gear from local retailers, now is offering its software for free to outdoor retailers for the next six months. Gearo Automator helps businesses manage inventory, customers and sales.
