An Australian company is saying G’Day to the Mile High City.
Coassemble, an online training tool that raised $4.4 million late last month, is opening an office in Denver, the company’s first in North America.
“Denver feels very much like an Australian city, so we felt it was a good culture fit. … It’s a little too cold for us but we’re adjusting,” said CEO Ryan Macpherson.
The 737-square-foot office in the Granite Building at 1228 15th St. opens Monday. Kiley Crews and Ana Sandomire of NAI Shames Makovsky represented the Landlord in lease negotiations.
Founded in 2016, Coassemble allows businesses to create a training program, video or document and share it with employees. Data from the training, including time on-screen and number of participants, then is shared with the client company. Macpherson said it can be used for sales and product training, or any company process that needs to be changed.
Coassemble has 24 employees. Its sole office is in Newcastle, Australia, although remote employees live elsewhere in the country and in Dallas, Los Angeles and Wisconsin.
The Denver office will open with five employees, and that’s expected to double by mid-2020. Macpherson said the office can support up to 20 employees.
“Expansion in the US has been a very important part of our business growth,” he said. “We see a large customer base in the US. … I think (there’s) a better understanding of our market over here than in Australia.”
Coassemble’s tools have been used by Coca-Cola and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, among other organizations. The company’s latest capital raise brings its total funding to $6.6 million.
Coassemble said it has doubled its customer base and monthly revenue in the past year.
