A Capitol Hill restaurant known for dishing up banh mi has closed.
Daikon, a Vietnamese restaurant, closed its Denver location at 211 E. 7th Ave. on Jan. 31, according to a Facebook post.
The restaurant served banh mi sandwiches and bowls made with braised pork shoulder, teriyaki chicken, salmon, tofu, mushroom or brisket, and a variety of toppings and sauces. It opened in a 1,266-square-foot space on 7th Avenue in 2018.
Daikon owners and brothers Rob and Lon McGowan didn’t respond to requests for comment Tuesday.
Daikon’s sandwiches still can be ordered at its Boulder location, which opened in November. And according to the company Facebook page, it is in “hot pursuit of a new Denver location.”
