A home in Country Club has hit the market in the wake of its owner filing for bankruptcy.

The five-bedroom, 5 1/2-bath home at 140 N. Humboldt St. was listed on Nov. 22 for $2.7 million.

Public records show the home is owned by Jeanette Wellers, who at least partially owned Englewood-based JBlanco Enterprises and related entities in the construction industry.

In early 2018, Wellers listed $3.2 million in liabilities when she filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which is typically used for reorganization and allows the debtor to pay back creditors over time. In July, Wellers voluntarily converted her case to Chapter 7 bankruptcy “to stop the administrative expenses being incurred,” according to court documents.

Chapter 7 bankruptcies are typically a liquidation process, where a trustee is appointed to oversee a selloff of the debtor’s assets.

Kenneth Buechler of Denver’s Buechler Law Office, who filed the original Chapter 11 filing on behalf of Wellers, said in an email that a trustee overseeing her assets listed the property.

Address: 140 N. Humboldt St., Denver

List price: $2.7 million

Stats: The five-bedroom, 5 1/2-bathroom house offers 6,123 square feet of living space on 0.38 acres of land.

The finer things: The two-story home built in 1911 showcases three gas fireplaces, and high ceilings and skylights throughout. The master bedroom has an attached office and wet bar.

The walk-out basement, equipped with a kitchenette and bathroom, leads to a pool, hot tub and built-in barbeque. The home also has a two-car garage.

Seller: Jeanette Wellers has owned the property since 2012, when she purchased it for $1.7 million, according to public records.

Listing agent: Berenice Bejarano with Kentwood Real Estate Cherry Creek

Editor’s Note: This story and headline have been updated to reflect the fact that a trustee made the decision to list the property. The name of a law firm has also been updated.
