A home in Belcaro sold by a former Denver mayoral candidate nabbed last month’s priciest home sale in the region.
Thomas A. Wolf, who ran for mayor in 2011, and his wife Hanne, an exec at telecommunications company Liberty Global, pocketed $4.9 million for the sale of their five-bed, five-bath home at 950 S. Steele St.
Wolf received just over 2,100 votes, or 1.89 percent, in the election that first elected current mayor Michael Hancock.
The Wolfs bought the land in 2005 for $1.1 million, records show. They sold the home July 2.
Address: 950 S. Steele St.
Sale price: $4.9 million
Stats: This five-bed, five-bath home sits on a half-acre in Belcaro, offering 7,400 square feet of living space.
The finer things: Built in 2007, the home boasts a pool in its professionally landscaped backyard, surrounded by a privacy fence. Large accordion doors off the dining and living rooms open to the covered patio.
The mansion’s second level has three balconies, two of which are off the master bedroom. Finishing touches throughout the home include clay walls, sustainable bamboo flooring and copper tile rainscreens.
A four-car garage with a workshop also sits on the property, though the listing indicates that as many as six cars could fit.

Buyer: Daniel Obarski, acting as Greenrock LLC, according to records.
