A Castle Pines property that hosted the 2013 wedding of former Broncos player Eric Decker and country singer Jessie James hits the market Tuesday with an asking price of $8.5 million.
The listing includes a nearly 14,000-square-foot mega-mansion at 7007 Daniels Park Road, as well as a 31-stall horse barn and 36,000-square-foot riding arena currently used by Castle Cliff Farm, a horse training and boarding facility.
The home and facilities were built by Castle Cliff operator Catherine Chase-Groos and her late husband Alexander Groos, who purchased the 53-acre property in 1992, according to Douglas County records.
The celebrity nuptials in 2013 put the property “on the map,” USA Today reported at the time. More than 40 couples subsequently booked weddings at the home, but they were cancelled when Douglas County caught wind. The stretch of land was zoned for agriculture, and was not permitted to host events, USA Today reported.
Recently, though, it was approved for residential rezoning, “offering enormous opportunity for future owners,” according to a spokesman for listing agency Compass.
Address: 7007 Daniels Park Road, Castle Pines, CO
List price: $8.5 million

The finer things: The main home is a European-style chateau that boasts dual staircases in the entryway, high ceilings, stained-glass windows, imported wood beams, stone walls and custom cabinetry. The home is dotted with chandeliers, five fireplaces and balconies to enjoy the mountain views.

While there may be 31 stalls for horses, the County Planning Commission has approved this property for only 12 horses. Additionally, Ms. Groos held 91 unauthorized weddings at the property and announced it in an open County Commissioners Meeting. Neighbors in adjacent properties have been discontented with Ms. Groos for years over the illegal use of her property. Any prospective new owner should meet with Douglas County Planning to obtain factual information regarding the property. It is a beautiful horse property!
This property is absolutely breathtaking!! So grateful we were able to get married here!! Truly it was a like living in a fairy tale for a day and I wish we could buy it.
