A North Carolina real estate firm that specializes in retail properties has bought along Berkeley’s Tennyson Street.
Charlotte-based Asana Partners, acting as AP 4000 Tennyson LLC, purchased 4000 Tennyson St. last week for $1.8 million, according to county records.
The building is home to two restaurants, The Royal and Post Oak Barbecue, the latter of which opened just last week. Previously, Block & Larder operated in the space.
Seller Gravitas Development Group paid $710,000 for the building in June 2013, records show. The firm then renovated the approximately 4,500-square-foot structure, which dates to 1933, according to the company’s website.
Asana Partners did not respond to a request for comment. The company does not appear to own other properties in Denver, but does not outline its holdings on its website.
Asana Partners was formed in 2015 by three former executives with Washington D.C.-based Edens, another retail-focused real estate firm. Edens moved into the Denver market in a big way last year, dropping more than $50 million for numerous properties within a block of each other in RiNo. The firm has been slowly adding to its holdings since then, with its most recent acquisition in early May.
