Construction began last month on a townhouse project at the corner of Logan Street and Exposition Avenue in Wash Park.
The project consists of 14 townhouse units in two structures, located at 340 E. Exposition Ave. and 701 S. Logan St., per development plans. Construction is expected to be completed in March 2020.
Lead developer Katrina Plank, of Vesta Residential Co., said the one-half acre lot was scraped in December. The development team, acting as 701 S Logan LLC, purchased the 0.48-acre property in 2018 for $1.85 million, according to records. Previously at the site were a pair of two-story office buildings; tenants included women’s gym Hot Mamas, which moved to Cheesman Park.
Each two-story unit will have two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a basement, as well as an attached two-car garage and a private rooftop deck. The units will range in size from 2,000 to 2,500 square feet.
“The unique thing about this project is the location and design,” Plank said in an email. “There are very few new townhouse options in Wash Park. It is a unique location for people wanting to be centrally located and be within six blocks of the park.”
Plank said the units will be listed for sale this summer, starting around $700,000. Liz Richards of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty will have the listings.
The Mulhern Group designed the townhome project. Other companies involved are Core Consults and Anchor Engineering.

Please stop calling this area “Wash Park”. This neighborhood is West Washington Park.
I’ve decided you can also call it Washington Park West, after my dear friend Kanye.
