A new-to-town coworking brand has landed a large San Francisco tech company as its first client in LoDo.

Messaging startup Slack has taken all 11,000 square feet at CommonGrounds Workspace at 1890 Wynkoop St., according to new signage at the site.

Jacob Bates, founder of San Diego-based CommonGrounds, told BusinessDen in September that one company had signed on to take the entire space, but declined to disclose the tenant. CommonGrounds opened in LoDo in October.

Slack will work out of CommonGrounds until April, when it is slated to move into its Denver headquarters at 16 Chestnut, near Union Station. The company signed a lease this summer for 80,000 square feet in the building.

CommonGrounds, which charges $750 per month for private offices, plans to expand its Denver presence. Bates said he is on the hunt for a second location.
