Kentwood Real estate names new CEO

There’s a new boss at the helm of one of Denver’s biggest residential brokerages.

Kentwood Real Estate this week announced that Gretchen Rosenberg will take the reins as president and chief executive.

A 20-year veteran at Kentwood, Rosenberg started navigating residential listings before there were smartphones and Google Maps. She had no choice but to memorize Denver’s neighborhoods as she helped clients find new homes.

“Now that we have GPS in our phones and in our cars, I lost that skill,” she joked.

The former managing broker of Kentwood’s Cherry Creek office is replacing Peter Niederman, who served as president and CEO since 2007.

“I’ve seen the prior owners … run the company and I’ve learned a lot from them.”

Rosenberg grew up in Southern California and moved to Colorado to study international studies and public affairs at the University of Denver. She also stayed at DU for her MBA.

In 1998, she joined Kentwood as one of the founding agents of its Cherry Creek office, and since then, she said she’s closed about $250 million in sales volume.

Rosenberg will now be at the helm of a 450-person operation at Kentwood, managing the company’s three locations in LoDo, Cherry Creek and a new DTC office.

“I want to listen and learn and not do too much differently,” she said. “Why mess with success?”

In May, Kentwood will move its DTC office into a 25,000-square-foot space in the new One DTC West building near Interstate 25 and Belleview Avenue.
