Colorado Distillers’ Guild will launch the first Hearts & Trails Spirits Festival on Feb. 24.

Blue Moon Brewing Co.: MillerCoors announced this month that Keith Villa would retire Jan. 5. Villa founded Blue Moon as a subsidiary of MillerCoors in the early ‘90s. The Belgian-style white recipe was inspired by Villa’s time in Belgium, where he received a doctorate degree in brewing.

Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project: Last week Crooked Stave announced it would begin distributing in Oklahoma this month. The brewery now distributes to 18 states and several countries.

Great Divide Brewing Co.: In 2015 Great Divide was selected as one of five American craft breweries to join the Jameson Caskmates Drinking Buddies program. This year, Great Divide is distributing the program’s beer, The Smoothness. On Feb. 1, it is hosting a tasting event for Jameson Caskmates whiskey that has been aged in IPA barrels.

The brewery also announced that in 2017, its Taproom Giving Program raised $75,000 for 23 nonprofits.

Crazy Mountain Brewing Co.: The brewery closed its Edwards taproom earlier this month. Crazy Mountain announced on its Facebook page that it would reopen in Eagle County. It still has three location in Denver and one in Lakewood, and its website has a new location in Parshall, Colorado, listed as coming soon.

Colorado Brewer’s Guild: On Jan. 4, the guild announced the members of its 2018 board. New members are Carris Knose from Living the Dream Brewing, Mike Lawinski from FATE Brewing Co., Dave Bergen from Joyride Brewing and David Axelrod from Broken Compass Brewing.

Tommyknocker Brewery and Pub: On Feb. 10 the brewery will host a 10,000th Brew Party. It also will transition from bottles to cans after installing a new canning system at its production facility in Idaho Springs. Cans will start to be distributed next month.

Tap Fourteen: The Ballpark beer garden opened a second location at 400 E. 19th Ave. in Uptown on Jan. 10. The new location has 70 draft beers and 100 distilled spirits from Colorado.

Station 26 Brewing Co.: The Park Hill brewery launched a food truck on Jan. 14. Order 26 will be located outside the brewery and serve food from 3-9 p.m. daily. The brewery also built a heated patio tent.

Briar Common Brewery and Eatery: Starting Jan. 22, the brewery will open for lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Colorado Distillers Guild: The guild will join Denver-based event production company Two Parts to launch the first Hearts & Trails Spirits Festival on Feb. 24. Ticket buyers will get unlimited tastings from distillers around the state. The event will be held at Mile High Station from 3-7 p.m.

Brewtography Project: Photographer Dustin Hall released his book “Discovering Colorado Breweries” on Jan. 20 at the Falling Rock Tap House. He and his wife had launched a Kickstarter campaign for the book that raised $38,000 through 314 backers.

Laws Whiskey: Laws will be hosting a tasting event at the The Corner Office Restaurant and Martini Bar downtown on Feb. 8. Tickets include four whiskey tastings, five food stations and a whiskey cocktail.
