The Green Solution is opening a window into the process of growing marijuana.
The chain of marijuana dispensaries recently opened a viewing window at 4400 Grape St. The company remodeled its dispensary to include a floor-to-ceiling window looking on to 1,000 square feet of grow space.
The dispensary remained open during construction, but officially reopened with the new window Dec. 20.
Brad Speidell, co-founder and chief retail officer, said it is the only dispensary to feature a full hydroponic viewing room. He said the chain wanted to emphasize its motto of “seed to sale to customers.”
“It’s quite the investment to bring it to life to people,” he said. “We want (customers) to experience the hard work it takes.”
Speidell said the dispensary will add plaques to the area explaining more about the growing process.
The grow space has pulleys on the lighting system to bring heat closer or further away from plants. The operation is meant to mimic nature, which is why the viewing space will be closed after 9 p.m. as the shop emulates nighttime.
Speidell said marijuana tours now can make one stop at this dispensary, instead of shopping at one place then going to a second to see a grow.
The Green Solution is remodeling all open dispensaries to create a better flow for customers. The Grape Street location has an express window for frequent shoppers and online orders. Its newest dispensary at 1995 Wewatta St. near Union Station will have a grand opening Jan. 27.
