Knobby tires will no longer be a staple on Old South Gaylord.
After 20 years in the bike business, The Singletrack Factory is shuttering at 1005 S. Gaylord St.
“For the last 18 months I have attempted to sell the business to current staff in order to keep the brand and business going in capable hands,” owner Brian Isakson wrote on the company’s Facebook page last week. “We were not able to accomplish the sale and transfer of the business. So, I have decided to liquidate and move on to my new endeavors.”
The Singletrack Factory’s last day is Oct. 15. The store’s other location in Scottsdale, Arizona, is shutting down as well, according to its website.
Brett MacDougall with Unique Properties has the property listed for sale at $1.5 million.
The Gaylord outpost carries high-end mountain bikes from brands including Golden-based Yeti Cycles, Ibis Cycles, Santa Cruz Bicycles and Rocky Mountain Bicycles. Customers can demo a bike for $100 for 24 hours, with up to $500 of demo credit going toward a purchase, according to the website.
The Singletrack Factory also provides full-service tuneups and mechanical services for bikes, skis and snowboards, and sells longboards on its website.
Company representatives did not respond to calls seeking comment.
