Asian fusion restaurant Zengo has sizzled out in downtown Denver.
Richard Sandoval’s Zengo and the connected Mexican cantina La Guera both closed on Thursday. The restaurant posted a note announcing its shutdown, first reported by Westword, on the door at 1610 Little Raven St.
A pair of Sandoval employees inside the restaurant, which was empty during what would have been happy hour on Thursday evening, confirmed that the restaurant had closed, but said the restaurant group is planning to be a part of a new concept moving into the space. They declined further comment.
Richard Sandoval opened Zengo in 2004. The restaurant group continues to operate Tamayo on 14th Street in Denver, La Sandia in Northfield, and Park Meadows and Venga Venga in Snowmass Village.
