Two next-door neighbors on Wash Park’s South Gaylord Street are going out of business.
Styletribe Underground, a consignment boutique, and Hannah by Design, an art and jewelry gallery, are both closing this week. Styletribe, at 1059 S. Gaylord St., is closing Wednesday, March 29, a sales associate confirmed.
Hannah Levine, owner of Hannah by Design at 1061 S. Gaylord St., said her gallery’s last day was Saturday, March 25.
“My lease is coming up and it’s time,” Levine said. “Time to not have the overhead of a retail gallery.”
Levine said she does not plan to open another gallery, but still plans to make jewelry and have private shows. The gallery featured art, sculpture and jewelry from 25 artists. Levine’s gallery had been on Gaylord for two years.
Styletribe has been at its location for three years, featuring designer handbags, clothing, shoes and accessories for resale, and also carrying new knitwear and accessories.

Two scarce things in this retail strip: low rents and parking.
