CVS is getting its first standalone Denver pharmacy out of the ground.
Masonry work is well underway at the company’s first location of its own, at the southeast corner of 38th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, where Tommy’s Slalom Shop used to stand.
CVS absorbed a network of Denver-area pharmacies when it acquired all of Target’s pharmacies. The deal gave CVS customers a place to pick up prescriptions, and pushed the firm toward a real foothold in the Walgreens-dominated Denver retail pharmacy business.
Since then, CVS also bought a corner lot at Hampden Avenue and Tamarac Drive.
