Park Hill residents have a new place to satisfy their brunch cravings.
DJ’s Cafe, which currently serves breakfast and lunch in Berkeley and the Golden Triangle, opened a new location at 1490 Eudora St. on Jan. 3.
“It’s very comfortable,” said Jason Stallings, owner of three DJ’s Cafes. “This feels like a place where somebody can spend the afternoon.”
The building previously housed Italian restaurant Red Octave, and features an outdoor patio. Stallings said he hired 15 to 20 employees for the opening. He has about 60 employees between his other restaurants.
The original DJ’s on Tennyson Street has been around for 10 years, and has more than tripled revenue in the last four years, Stallings said. He said the cafes will continue to expand as they see deals and neighborhoods they like.

This location is not technically Park Hill. It is a part of the Mayfair neighborhood. Park Hill is located north of Colfax. I’m sure the leaders of the Mayfair neighborhood Association would like this cafe to be recognized as a part of their community.
