Months after firing up the grills at 38th and Lipan, TAG Burger Bar has closed its 38th Avenue restaurant.

“TAG Burger Bar will be relocating to 32nd and Perry early 2017,” a sign on the door of the Highlands burger joint reads. “Thank you for your support and we’ll see you soon.”

Chef Troy Guard took over 3759 Lipan St., then called Sunnyside Burger Bar, in January. Guard had helped to design the menu at Sunnyside Burger Bar, which Larimer Associates opened in fall 2014.

Guard reopened the restaurant as the second location for TAG Burger Bar, decorating the walls facing 38th Avenue and Lipan Street with murals of a bulldog, an owl and a wolf dreaming of burgers.

TAG will be moving to the same block as Blue Pan Pizza. Previously, the corner had been occupied by Highlands Asian Grill.

Guard’s eighth restaurant concept, Mister Tuna, opened in RiNo’s Industry building on Friday.
