Downtown is down a vegan spot.
Chicago-based Native Foods Cafe shut down its Denver Pavilions location over the weekend less than two years after joining the 16th Street Mall shopping center. It’s the second Denver restaurant Native Foods has closed after shuttering a Lakewood shop late last year.
A sign posted on the restaurant’s door last week said Native Foods would close up shop on Jan. 17. Native Foods Cafe’s Pavilions storefront takes up 3,318 square feet on the shopping center’s first floor. The space is listed for rent on a recently updated Loopnet ad.
After the Lakewood and Pavilions restaurant closings, Native Foods is left with Colorado locations in Glendale, University Park and Boulder. The brand also has restaurants in California, Oregon and Chicago.
Native Foods Cafe did not respond to an email seeking comment on the closures.

The University Park location closed on January 16 as well. I’ve heard they plan to keep the Boulder and Glendale locations open. Sad to see them go!
