An Englewood CrossFit studio has shut down after six years.
CrossFit Unbroken, at 1500 W. Hampden Ave., did its last burpee on Friday.
“It was no longer a passion for me,” said owner Matt Hathcock, who founded the gym in 2009. “I’ve got a 2-year-old daughter, and having her at the gym for several hours was not what a 2-year-old should be doing.”
Hathcock, who owns the gym with his wife Shannon, will begin taking paramedic classes this month.
Unbroken had 175 members at its peak in 2013, Hathcock said. Over the last two years, however, membership had declined.
Hathcock said he didn’t know if there is a new tenant moving into the space.
