A renovated farmhouse on 15 acres in Cherry Hills Village sold for $11 million in July, making it the highest-priced home sale that month, according to Colorado MLS.
The seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom house sits atop a 15-acre expanse of land that includes a six-stall barn, paddocks and a pasture. The previous owners raised show horses on the property, located at 4001 E. Quincy Ave.
“It’s been operating as a farm for many years,” said Barbara Perry, a broker with Perry & Co. who listed the home. “It’s a very unique property right in the middle of Cherry Hills Village that had been in the same family since 1956. You can’t buy that kind of acreage very often today.”
The previous owners expanded the original farmhouse to 6,500 square feet with several additions. But the home itself, which needs some fixing up, didn’t warrant such a large price tag, Perry said.
“(The property) sold for the land more than the house,” she said. “The house really had no value at this point other than some of the wonderful history it had, like entertaining Princess Anne and several dignitaries.”
The property, which went on the market in April, was listed for $12.8 million.
Clearview Farm LLC bought it from Gilman Family LP, according to Arapahoe County property records.
