A Denver salad joint has closed down both of its eateries.

Choppers Custom Salads is out of business both at its LoDo and Denver Tech Center locations.

In social media posts, the restaurant blamed both closures on real estate troubles and said the company is looking for new space in the Tech Center to reopen this spring.

Choppers owner Patrick O’Neill declined to comment on his plans for the company.

Choppers closed its location in Village Plaza Shopping Center on DTC Boulevard in October.

The LoDo location on Blake Street was shuttered in February. Choppers said on its Facebook page that rising rents in LoDo brought about the closing of that store.

The Choppers space at 1765 Blake St. is back on the market for lease, and Crosbie Real Estate Group brokers Jeff Germain and Eli Boymel are handling the listing. Germain said the asking rate on the 2,280-square-foot storefront is $34 per foot, and it is available for near-immediate move-in.

“It’s very active – we have showings constantly,” he said on Thursday. “I had one yesterday, and I have one scheduled for tomorrow.”
